Introduction/ Overview of Internship.

My name is Lubna (student ID:0312309) , 23 years old  and I am a 3rd year student taking a degree in International Business. As according to my degree program, I am supposed to do a three months intern-ship in order to graduate the program, which I managed to complete the 3months working at Lava Protocols located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor Malaysia. The intern-ship is part of the project module which is 25%, while the final year project is 75% and this adds up to 100% of the module. It is very beneficial to have some sort of experience in the application part of what one learns in their course as it gives you a taste of how the real world works compared to just learning the theories. It is important to know how these theories can be flexible depending on different fields and scenarios in the work place. Apart from having academical benefits, doing an intern-ship also allows one to have a better chance in getting hired as compared to a fresh graduate with absolutely no experience in the work place.

On the 5th of January is the day I started my Intern-ship as per the contract with the Company, Lava Protocols. I was quite nervous at the beginning and on the first day. I have worked before, but I have never worked in an office setting or office work. Working in an IT operating firm that specialises in Cloud computing technology is not what I initially had in mind since I am a business student. After a couple of weeks I completely changed my mind due to the fact that I realized being a business student has limitless possibilities even in an IT firm as every aspect of firms in different sectors would need an expert in business to help them run the business smoothly. This also can be broken down into many categories such as sales and networking, financial, business strategies consultancy, overall business performance consultancy, marketing, expansion projects and etc. It was very calming to know that what I have taken on as a degree allows me to be flexible and limitless as to the career ventures I can pursue. Doing this intern-ship has given me an overview of how my life after school will be, quite challenging and educational. I am always eager to learn new things and I believe I will keep on learning even in a work place which is such a good thing for a knowledge seeker like me.
